Anybody Can Kayak!

I bought the video. Well worth it.

The DVDs just arrived yesterday in Indonesia. They are great especially the rolling instruction, since I find difficulties to do it. I show to my instructor, so both of us will get a benefit from them.
I’ve received the DVD last Friday, thank you. I really appreciate the lessons and could successfully use some of your advice at our roll session on last Saturday. [teaching some kids and refining my roll]
I currently have your rolling DVD and think its fab! Was wondering if you will be bringing out a river running DVD in the near future?
I love your videos. The rolling video really helped me to teach rolling and improved my understanding of my own, sometimes unreliable roll.

Your Anybody can roll video is what got my wife and I into kayaking 3 years ago. I have also used your techniques on a few friends and got them rolling pretty fast.
Great dvds - I still watch them nearly a year on. They are straightforward and easy to digest. What's more they are fun to watch (again and again). .... I recommend your dvds whenever I get the opportunity!

I just got the DVD today. Nice explanations and images. This afternoon I went to the local whitewater course and began improving.
I just wanted to say, “thank you for taking the time to put this very informative video together”. Although I’ve been on the water most of my life, at the age of 55; I’m just now taking on whitewater kayaking. Your video was a tremendous help, and allowed me to excel in my roll classes. Being the oldest one there, I was able to accomplish my roll faster than anyone else.
I got the DVD as much for coaching at my club's pool sessions as for my own roll. I used your basic method last night to coach a 15 year old through his first pool roll and he got it in under 20 minutes -- and he did around 10 more rolls unaided within the hour long session. So needless to say I've been very impressed with your approach.
Your videos are the best and I have watched dozens of them online. Let me give you a little background about me and my friends! We started river running during a big flood June 2011 in central Connecticut, with small lake boats without a skirt! We did wear our mountain bike helmets and sailing PFDs! Needless to say we crashed and burned a dozen times over a 2 hour paddle that now takes us 45 minutes. The next day I acquired a Remix 79 and a skirt and signed up for a rolling lesson (group).... My instructor was very good for me but she was not able to duplicate the results with my friends even in a pool during this past winter. At $ 60/hour I decided to get your video and teach them myself. I had my friends watch your video over and over. We practiced in a warm pool we could rent in the winter. Your video was AMAZING, the rolling came quickly for all of us! And we are athletic but not young (45-55)...The DVD was perfect and it made river running so much better knowing we didn't have to fear "swimming".
I can roll already, but heard from a friend your "bombproofing" section was the best she's seen. Looking forward to it, and practicing the drills.... [Then, after receiving the rolling DVD].... Tim, first of all the video was great! Funny, informative, and very useful. Some friends and I were really excited to get on the Chattooga and try the drills for ourselves. We spent nearly two hours in two rapids, not even 1/4mi from the put-in, working on concepts from the video. One friend got her first rolls in current, and we all had a blast. Looking forward to doing it again soon.

I bought all 3 DVD's last week and they are excellent. Consequently, I bought two copies of the rolling video for my sisters... I tried to get them to roll in a lake last month and almost drowned them all. Hopefully the DVDs will help me (..... help them).... learn to roll so they can paddle with me... I am certain I will purchase more for all those who want to learn.
Love your DVDs. I have them all, and they have by far the most detailed and understandable instruction of any I've found. They have helped me personally, and given me some good info for helping a few friends make advances. Great job!
I wanted to thank you for the instruction on the video. I was able to get my first roll followed by 2, 3, and 4 in about 15 minutes. I only had two teenagers (my nephew and a friend) at the city pool after hours. The hip snap drill was the key for me. They where less than helpful on the following drills so after I got the hip snap, I just rolled, went to ready position, sweeped, and snapped. Again, thanks for the instruction...
By the way, I turn 40 this year, so I'm not the buff young man that I once was.....I have a liquid logic remix Xp9. I have been told this is an easy kayak to learn on, but haven't tried another kayak yet to compare...Thanks again for the money well spent.
I wanted to start off saying I'm really impressed with your DVDs. I've seen quite a few other instructional kayak DVDs……... Yours make the most sense and are the easiest to translate from living room to river.... I love the frame by frame and on screen drawings that show exactly what paddle, body and boat are supposed to do.
A few months ago I got your Basic Playboating DVD and your Rolling DVD. The way you break down the teaching into segments, use graphics on photos (such as a line showing how the paddler should be leaning forward), slow motion footage, and repetition are excellent! Your DVDs teach the way my brain can learn--thanks! ...... By the way, after watching parts of your Rolling DVD, my wife and another lady in our paddle club both commented that they thought they could learn to roll. They were hesitant of trying to learn rolling before then.
I'm very very happy to have bought it. It's really well done especially in small details, details that are underrated many times. I can't write anything bad about this video.

Just to let you know I received the DVD today, another brilliant piece of work by you and your son.

Thank you very much for your great DVD. I tried for some time before to master a kayak roll, but without success. After me and my training partner have seen your DVD, and after some training in the pool, I succeeded after four weeks. Now I grow more and more confident with the basic roll.
I have already watched the Anybody Can Playboat DVD several times and have found the instruction very helpful.
Great video.....not a lot of talk, but what is said is straight to the point and important.
I have bought many instructional videos & DVDs from famous names over the years, but they were sometimes a bit overwhelming. Yours are very simply produced and you really take the time to go into every move in detail.... Even the spots you use to film at are something I could imagine paddling, whereas I'll probably never run the Ottawa, the Zambezi or Futaluefu! In short, your instruction is unintimidating for the less-than-expert boater and particularly well structured.
Production quality could be better but the content is absolutely great for both videos I purchased. I have already pinpointed the common errors I am making with my roll.
I thought the entire video was very well done, both from an instructor and student perspective. As an instructor, I particularly enjoyed the rolling issue diagnosis section.... Also, I liked the “faster rolling” section – gave me a lot of food for thought for my own winter pool goals.

Loved your roll video!

What can I say? You guys make great videos, and I know a good deal when I see one!
The DVD's are great; thanks to you, I am rolling my ronin 59 consistently and ready to get into playboating. You guys have a great product--thanks again!

Your basic playboating video was fantastic! I loved it.
My club coaches do try to explain different moves but it makes much more sense watching your dvd.
Great Yeldhm, Essex, U.K.
I'll be using the drills when I teach at pool sessions in the near future. I really enjoyed the sections that showed common mistakes for the instructors - a great idea and very useful.

Your videos are the best I have seen out there and the music makes it even more enjoyable.
Things like positioning on the wave, spotting target, torso windup, all the things you and your son discuss in detail were very helpful! The results were fantastic as after a couple of thirty minutes sessions I was working the hole pretty well....
I find the explanations clear, the drills make sense, and the progression is fluid. I am sure it will be a great tool to fine tune my roll and to teach newcomers the sport. I like your flexible not know it all attitude.
This is the most all inclusive video for beginner or expert that I have ever seen on rolling. You have covered all of the variables and solutions that one might need on the river. Doing these exercises will all but guarantee that you will never swim which will give you the confidence to go at it hard and advance your skills to a higher level very quickly. If a kayaker wants to have a bomb proof roll, this is the video to watch.
By unwinding the torso instead of pulling a hard stroke, I'll be damned if I didn't spin around and stay in the mini hole easier. Just like you said in the video.... Cannot wait to get to Glenwood next week to apply some more learning...You have provided the missing link in video instruction for playboating moves to make my AllStar throw down.... The breakdown for spins, loops, blunts, and cartwheels was excellent....
I have just finished watching your video. This is the best instruction that I have ever seen. The way you break it down is awesome.
If you’re looking to get started playboating with a real understanding of how it works, this is the DVD you want to own.

I own a number of freestyle instructional videos, but the way you and Greg break things down and explain moves in detail improved my playboating immediately.
Excellent. This is the best of the current basic playboating videos.

This DVD is as informative as hell and very entertaining.
Good job. You made the moves seem doable.
The video teaches you how to do the tricks. I wish I had this 20 years ago.
